Intervenciones contemporáneas en los mercados municipales representativos de Cataluña y Valencia, construidos a finales del siglo XIX y principios del XX

Abstract

This PhD thesis is a deep research on the architectural evolution of the most representative municipal markets in Catalonia and Valencia , from its origins to the present day. It includes an extensive comparison of all the cases considered (in the sample), with emphasis on contemporany renovations and methods and criteria aplplied (including the levels of law protection and their influence in the result). The study stablishes the fundamental values of this kind of historical buildings that need to be preserved in terms of the heritage conservation.
