La evolución de la profesión enfermera en el Hospital Clínic de Barcelona. Una investigación histórica (1906-2018)

Abstract

La presente investigación esta enfocada en describir la evolución de la profesión enfermera en el Hospital Clínic de Barcelona. Esta enmarcada dentro del paradigma cualitativo constructivista. El método utilizado es el histórico y el posicionamiento teórico es el sociológico, el político y el de los grandes personajes. La investigación se ha realizado con entrevistas a profesionales del hospital. las historias narradas por los entrevistados es la historia del hospital, del contexto y de las vivencias de la profeisón enfermera en cada momento histórico, donde destaca la identidad profesional, la del HCB, gran cantidad de significados y de identificación con la actividad y la institución. Se han utilizado documentos primarios y secundarios, así como iconografías. Se obtuvo información de los participantes sobre su vida profesional, la evolución de la profesión en el hospital, la formaicón básica y la formaicón continuada recibída, además de los cuidados enfermeros que prestaban a las personas atendidas, la profesionalización de la enfermería, las iniciativas asociativas y la gestión del conocimiento. Este trabajo ha permitido conocer los elementos que han impulsado el desarrollo profesional y las mejoras en el cuidado enfermero, describiendo la evolución de la profesión enfermera en el HCB hasta nuestros días.

The present investigation is focused on describing the evolution of the nursing profession in the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona. It is framed within the qualitative constructivist paradigm. The historical method is used and the theoretical positioning is the sociological, the political and that of the great characters. The research was conducted with interviews with hospital professionals. the stories narrated by the interviewees is the history of the hospital, the context and the experiences of the nursing profession in every historical moment, where the professional identity stands out, that of the HCB, a great number of meanings and identification with the activity and the institution . Primary and secondary documents have been used, as well as iconographies. Information was obtained from the participants about their professional life, the evolution of the profession in the hospital, the basic training and the continued training received, as well as the nursing care provided to the people served, the professionalization of nursing, the associative initiatives and knowledge management. This work has allowed to know the elements that have impelled the professional development and the improvements in the nursing care, describing the evolution of the profession nurse in the HCB until nowadays.
