Paper d'Internet en la cultura emergent del món actual (1945-2003), El. Instal·lacions interactives, Net.Art i hipertextos en línia com a estudis de cas

Abstract

Es tracta d'una recerca d'història que s'aplica al camp de la producció artística i literària en xarxa i que pretén explicar com apareix, es desenvolupa, es consolida i es legitima un nou camp cultural, com el mode de producció informacional està fent emergir una superstructura cibercultural i com s'hi integren l'art i la literatura digitals. Volem esbrinar si la revolució digital i Internet estan a la base de la constitució d'un nou camp cultural i, en cas afirmatiu, en volem definir els seus components i estructura.<br/>El treball s'ha estructurat en cinc blocs:<br/>Primer: una descripció històrica "del 1945 al 2003" que estudia el procés de convergència entre art, literatura i ordinador. <br/>Segon: una presentació teòrica de l'art digital i la seva conceptualització, fent un èmfasi especial en els processos que el caracteritzen, com la hipermedialització, la modelització, la generació, la performativitat, l'experimentació i la memorització. També s'hi analitza la nova relació que s'estableix entre autor, obra i receptor i s'hi proposa una certa desmitificació del concepte d'interactivitat<br/>Tercer: un treball de camp sobre el Net.art i les comunitats virtuals d'artistes, que ens ha permès establir una possible proposta de taxonomia de les obres i un aprofundiment en temàtiques específiques, com ara sobre el cos digital, la identitat en xarxa i la concepció del planeta Terra<br/>Quart: una construcció del discurs hacker i de les seves pràctiques d'artivisme en xarxa, entre les quals s'enumeren des del simple activisme informatitzat fins a la resistència a la guerra passant per la desobediència civil electrònica, per a desembocar en el discurs sobre el ciberterrorisme i la política de la por de l'administració nordamericana, des de l'era Clinton, i les grans inversions en seguretat justificades, però innecessàries, en nom de la defensa nacional.<br/>Cinquè: la confirmació de la nostra hipòtesi de partida: existeix un nou camp cultural, basat en les tecnologies digitals i Internet, que comporta un nou sistema de representació de l'artista, un nou sistema de producció, distribució i recepció de les imatges i els textos digitals i la crisi dels models tradicionals de mercat, mostració i crítica.

Interactive installations, Net.Art and hypertexts on line as studies of case<br/><br/>The thesis is a research in history applied to the fields of artistic and literary production in the network. It attempts to explain how a new cultural field turns up, develops, is consolidated and is legitimated. It also deals with how the mode of informational production is making a cyber cultural superstructure emerge and how the art and the digital literature are integrated into it. We want to find out if the digital revolution and Internet are on the basis of the constitution of a new cultural field and, in affirmative case, we want to describe its components and structures.<br/><br/>The work has been structured in five blocks:<br/>First: a historical description -of 1945 in 2003&#61485; that studies the process of convergence among art, literature and computer. <br/><br/>Second: a theoretical presentation of the digital art and its conceptualization, making a special emphasis in the processes that characterize it, like the hypermedia, modelisation, generation, performance, the experimentation and the memorization. The new relationship established among author, work and receiver is also analyzed and a certain demystification of the concept of interactivity is proposed<br/><br/>Third: a fieldwork about the Net.art and the virtual communities of artists, that it has allowed us to establish a possible proposal of taxonomy of the works and a going deeper in some thematic subjects such as the digital body, the identity in net and the conception of the planet Earth.<br/><br/>Fourth: a construction of the hacker discourse and of its practices of artivism in the Net, among which they enumerate themselves from the simple activism computerized until the resistance to the war or the electronic civil disobedience, to leading the discourse to cyberterrorism and the politics of fear in the North American administration, since the era Clinton, and the great investments in security justified, but unnecessary, in the name of the national defense.<br/><br/>Fifth: the confirmation of our hypothesis of game: there is a new cultural field, based on the digital technologies and Internet, which entails a new system of representation of the artist, a new system of production, distribution and reception of the images and the digital texts and the crisis of the traditional models of market, show and criticism.</i>
