Estudio del léxico micénico referido a la industria del aceite perfumado

Abstract

El treball té per objectiu l’estudi dels diversos camps lèxics testimoniats en les inscripcions micèniques, per tal de conèixer millor la societat micènica del II mil·lenni aC., i alhora el grau de continuïtat d’aquests camps en el grec del I mil·leni. El punt de partença és el treball de Cynthia W. Shelmerdine: The Perfume Industry of Mycenaean Pylos, publicat a Göteborg el 1985. Tanmateix, el present treball s’estructura de manera diferent: s’analitzen les inscripcions micèniques on apareixen els termes relatius a la indústria de l’oli perfumat. Aquests termes es classifiques segons el seu camp lèxic: des dels termes directament relacionats, fins a noms de mesos i festivals. Dins de l’anàlisi es tracten diferents aspectes: els pròpiament filològics com l’origen etimològic de la paraula en qüestió, i aquells aspectes més arqueològics o socials com és l’estudi d’algunes divinitats o els termes que designen els temples d’aquestes divinitats. En aquest treball es tenen en compte els termes trobats en tots els jaciments micènics on s’han trobat les tauletes en lineal B que tenen a veure amb la indústria de l’oli perfumat.

The objective of this paper is the study of the different lexical fields testified in the Mycenaean inscriptions with the purpose to know better the Mycenaean society of the II millennium B.C., and, at the same time, to know the degree of continuity of these fields in the Greek of the I millennium B.C. The beginning is the Cynthia W. Shelmerdine work: The Perfume Industry of Mycenaean Pylos, published at Göteborg, 1985. Nevertheless, the present paper is structured in different way: we analyse the inscriptions that list terms relatives to the industry of perfumed olive oil. These terms are classified according to their lexical field: there are terms directly related, and month and festival names. In the analysis we can see different aspects: the properly philological as the etymological origin of the words and the more archaeological aspects or the socials, like the study of some divinities or terms that named the temples of these divinities. In this work we deal with the terms found in all the Mycenaean sites where the linear B tablets, that are concerned with the perfume industry, have been found.
