Arquitectura en Valencia 18331868. De la crisis del Academicismo a los historicismos

Abstract

Aquesta investigació se centra en I'analisi de I'arquitectura valenciana durant el regnat d'lsabel 11(1833-1868). L'arquitectura valenciana sempre s'ha estudiat en comparació amb I'arquitectura deMadrid, considerant-, per tant, com un reflex tarda respecte a la de la capital. No obstant aixó, aquestaés una visió que simplifica I'activitat arquitectónica d'un període caracteritzat precissament per la sevacomplexitat ideológica i cultural. En base a aixó, els objectius d'aquest projecte de recerca són: primer,analitzar si la Revolució liberal va tenir efectes sobre I'arquitectura de Valencia. El segon objectiu ésexaminar i avaluar les primeres manifestacions de revivals.

This research focuses on the analysis of Valencian architecture during the reign of Isabella 11(1833-1868). Valencian architecture has always been studied in comparison with the architecture ofMadrid, which is therefore regarded as a late and weakened reflection compared to that of the capital.However, this is a vision that simplifies the architectural activity of a period characterized by itsideological and cultural complexity.The aims of this research project are: first, to analyze if the LiberalRevolution has had effects on the architecture of Valencia. The second purpose is to examine andevaluate the first manifestations of revivals.
