El Col·legi Claret de Barcelona (1939-1975): Una escola en el nacionalcatolicisme franquista

Abstract

El col·legi Claret de Barcelona ens ha donat la possibilitat d’accedir a unes fonts primàries inèdites del seu arxiu com són les fitxes dels alumnes, les memòries escolars, els butlletins interns i els prospectes de l’escola entre el 1939 i el 1975. Això ens ha permès estudiar la significació del col·legi en la transformació del barri que l’envolta, observar on vivien els alumnes, veure l’evolució dels criteris i tarifes escolars, tenir una visió global de la tasca d’ensenyament feta pel Col·legi en l’entorn de la legislació del règim franquista, així com mostrar un ampli exemple documental dels missatges que es transmetien als alumnes i a les seves famílies en l’entorn del nacionalcatolicisme vigent durant la dictadura. Ha implicat la recollida, revisió, classificació i extracció de resultats de més de set mil fitxes d’alumnes i de gairebé cinc mil quatre-cents fulls impresos; aquesta tasca ens ha permès fer agrupacions per temàtiques i períodes cronològics, elaborar quadres, gràfics i mapes, utilitzant en aquest cas eines cartogràfiques. També hem fet enquestes a ex-alumnes per incorporar una visió qualitativa de persones que van realitzar els seus estudis al Claret. L’estudi detallat del col·legi Claret sobrepassa el cas particular per a donar una visió de la situació i l’evolució de la vida social, religiosa i política durant el franquisme a la Barcelona on vivien els seus alumnes.

The Claret School has generously given us access to its archive –unexplored for research purposes until now- and its primary sources of information, including student files, school reports, internal newsletters and school brochures, from the period ranging from 1939 to 1975. We have been able to study the significance of this school in the transformations of the surrounding neighborhood, where the students lived, the evolution of the school fees and educational standards, and even some understanding of the nature of the teaching of this school in the context of the legislation of the Franco regime. In the archive we found a vast number of well documented messages that were transmitted to students and their families as part of the National-Catholicism in effect during Franco dictatorship. This research effort has involved the collection, review, classification and extraction of results of more than seven thousand student cards as well as almost five thousand four hundred paper documents pages. To conduct this task, data has been organized by themes and chronological periods, charts, graphs and maps have been created using cartographic tools. We also conducted surveys of alumni to incorporate their qualitative view from Claret School former student population. The detailed study of the Claret school goes beyond the particular case to give a vision of the situation and the evolution of the social, religious and political life during the Franco regime in the Barcelona where its students lived.
