Expresión y Alteridad en Merleau-Ponty

Abstract

[spa] Este trabajo de investigación es una interrogación sobre la naturaleza de la relación entre expresión y alteridad en el pensamiento de Merleau-Ponty. En su temprana exploración del concepto de intersubjetividad como intercorporalidad, encontramos una noción clave a partir de la cual se pueden entender muchas de las figuras que aparecen en su filosofía: quiasmo, dehiscencia, hiperdialéctica, chair, empiètment. Nuestra tesis es que la lectura de estos conceptos como nociones relacionales –modos de vinculación, gozne, articulación– y el giro de perspectiva que se da en la filosofía merleau-pontiana de una pregunta por el sujeto de la percepción a una búsqueda ontológica, permiten pensar la expresión y la alteridad desde una perspectiva de descentración de lo humano, abriendo el camino a una relación ética entre seres que habitamos un mundo en común. Intentaremos mostrar cómo el pensamiento merleau- pontiano entiende la expresión como lugar de aparición y de práctica de lo relacional, como vaivén interrogativo, expresión que siempre se desborda y a la vez nos acoge. La diferencia, el otro en tanto que radicalmente otro, acontece en el seno de ese campo común hecho de empiètements –injerencias, superposiciones– por la no-coincidencia, por el campo indefinido de distancias que se dan en la experiencia perceptiva, distancias que están también en juego entre la palabra y el pensamiento, y el pensamiento y el mundo.

[eng] This dissertation is an interrogation of the nature of the relation between expression and alterity in Merleau-Ponty's thought. In his early exploration of the concept of intersubjectivity as intercorporality, we find a key notion from which many of the figures that appear in his philosophy can be understood: chiasmus, dehiscence, hyperdialectics, chair, empiètment. Our thesis is that the reading of these concepts as relational notions –modes of entailment, hinge, articulation– and the shift in perspective that occurs in Merleau-Pontyan philosophy from a question about the subject of perception to an ontological quest, allow us to think expression and otherness from a perspective of decentering the human, opening the way to an ethical relationship between beings who inhabit a common world. We will try to show how Merleau-Pontyan thought understands expression as a place of appearance and practice of the relational, as a interrogative back and forth, an expression that always overflows and at the same time contains us. Difference, the other as radically other, occurs at the heart of this common field made of empiètements –encroachments, superpositions– by non-coincidence, by the indefinite field of distances –that occur in the perceptual experience, distances also at play between word and thought, and thought and the world.
