La censura franquista i la traducció catalana de narrativa als anys seixanta

Abstract

Aquesta tesi doctoral estudia la censura franquista i les repercussions que va tenir en el món editorial català, concretament, en la traducció, en l’últim període de la dictadura, de tanta transcendència per a l’evolució del sistema literari. Així, es presenta un registre de totes les obres de narrativa traduïdes al català entre els anys 1960 i 1969, que han estat analitzades des de dues perspectives: d’una banda, l’examen dels expedients de censura, extrets de l’Archivo General de la Administración (AGA) d’Alcalá de Henares, ens ha permès descobrir els mecanismes que feien funcionar els engranatges de l’aparell de la censura, com també els protocols que complien els censors; de l’altra, s’ha establert una anàlisi comparativa entre els textos originals i les obres traduïdes sota censura, a fi de mostrar els resultats d’aquesta pràctica repressora i de conèixer d’una manera més completa i fefaent la situació del sector editorial durant aquell període.

This doctoral thesis studies Francoist censorship and the repercussions that it had in the Catalan editorial world, specifically, in the area of translation, during the last period of the dictatorship, where it had so much influence on the evolution of literary production. For that reason, this thesis presents a record of all of the works of narrative translated into Catalan during the years 1960-1969, which are analyzed from two perspectives: on the one hand, an analysis of censorship records, taken from the Archivo General de la Administración (AGA) at Alcalá de Henares, which allow us to discover the mechanisms that permitted the inner workings of the censorship apparatus to function, as well as the protocols that the censors followed; on the other hand, this study also undertakes a comparative analysis between the original texts and the translated works done under censorship, for the purpose of illustrating the effects of this repressive practice, in order to better and more accurately understand the historical situation in the editorial market during that period.
