Abstract

Partint del fet que l’època de majors transformacions en tots els àmbits en la història de la ciutat de València ha sigut la segona meitat del segle XX, i que el discurs artístic ha caracteritzat, creat i imaginat una mirada plural i contradictòria sobre la ciutat reconstruint-la com una estratègia discursiva destinada a indagar el sentint de les tensions i conflictes que caracteritzen els processos de transformació urbana, és la finalitat d’aquesta tesi analitzar com una forma d’escriptura i d’organització dels materials expressius arriba a materialitzar-se en una forma de pensar i de donar sentit a la ciutat de València dotant-la d’una imatge.

Based on the fact that the period of major transformations in all areas in the history of the city of Valencia was the second half of the 20th century, and that the artistic discourse has characterised, created and imagined a plural and contradictory view of the city, reconstructing it as a discursive strategy aimed at investigating the meaning of the tensions and conflicts that characterise urban transformation processes, the purpose of this thesis is to analyse how a way of writing and organising expressive materials materialises into a way of thinking and giving Valencia meaning by providing the city with an image. Therefore, the imaginary, which depending on the moment becomes hegemonic, will maintain a dialectical tension with the other visions of the city due to the presence or absence of citizen participation in the configuration of the city.
